Toyota invests 2,3 billion in research institute for autonomous driving

Toyota announced it starts collaborating with Aisin Seiki and Denso to found a new research institute for self-driving cars.

Aisin Seiki and Denso are Japanese manufacterers of vehicle parts and are both member of the Toyota group.

Their joint investment is 300 billion yen, or 2.3 billion euro. The institute is called Toyota Research Institute-Advanced Development. It should contribute to developing software for autonomous driving at a faster pace.
